Is this aligned with the school curriculum?

Yes. All 20 experiments cover core science concepts aligned with Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) for Grades 1–5 — forces, light, sound, electricity, matter, and the water cycle — taught through hands-on doing rather than reading and memorising.

What age is it best for?

Designed for ages 6–10. Younger children (6–7) love the activities with parent guidance. Older children (8–10) can follow the steps more independently and explain the science behind what they did.

What materials are needed for the experiments?

All 20 experiments use common household items — baking soda, vinegar, food coloring, rubber bands, ice, coins, paper towels, salt, lemons, and similar everyday things. Nothing to buy, nothing to order.

Do the QR codes need an app or subscription?

Are the experiments safe for kids?

My grandson loves this so much!

Picked this up after seeing it shared in our local homeschool group and I'm so glad I did. My 9-year-old took one look at the colorful cover and immediately wanted to start. We did Surface Tension together and it was a fantastic bonding experience. The materials were all things we had at home. Magic Milk Colors was our second experiment and it worked perfectly. The book teaches real STEM concepts through actual hands-on doing. 5 stars from our household! Already recommending it to all the parents in our playgroup. Great product overall.

Good book but wished for more content

Good book and my niece has enjoyed most experiments. The Lemon Battery was a huge favorite. What kept this from 5 stars is that a couple of experiments required materials that weren't immediately on hand for us. The lava lamp experiment especially needed a trip to the store. But the vast majority use things you have at home already. Educational quality is excellent. 4 stars.

Absolutely love this workbook!

This workbook is amazing. I'm a grandpa and I was looking for something that would get my 6-year-old off screens and learning. This worked better than anything I've tried. He started with Magic Milk Colors and couldn't stop. The next day he woke up and immediately wanted to do Homemade Lava Lamp. The book explains the science concepts in a way kids can actually understand and remember. We've now done 12 out of 20 experiments. Zero regrets. Worth every penny — highly recommend

I'm a homeschool parent of a 8-year-old and I honestly did not expect this much from an online science workbook. We tried Walking Water first and my daughter was completely captivated from the very first step. The instructions are crystal clear and every single material was already in our kitchen. We moved on to Magic Milk Colors the next day and it worked just as well. The section that explains WHY the experiment works is really special — my kid actually gets the science, not just the spectacle. Highly recommend!
